Microsoft offers free software for Windows Phone that you can download and install on your Windows 8 PC or tablet. This software, which is available through the Windows Store, makes it easy to copy music, videos, and pictures from your collection to your phone. You can also use the software to check your phone’s battery power and to monitor the amount of available storage space on your phone.

The Windows Phone software interface contains several items:

A. The model of phone you are using

B. Your phone number

C. The status of the phone’s battery

D. The Add Photos button

E. The Add Video Button

F. The Add Music Button

G. The amount of storage space that has been consumed

H. The amount of free storage space remaining

I. The On Your Phone window, which displays the multimedia content that is currently stored on your phone

The following sections show you how to add various types of media and content to your phone, including photos and music.

Adding Photos to Your Phone

To add photos to the phone using the Windows Phone software, click the Add Photos button from the On Your Phone window and follow these steps:

1. Click the folder containing the pictures you want to add.

2. Click the pictures that you want to add to the phone. As an alternative, you can click Select All to select all the pictures in the current folder.

3. Click the Add button.

4. The recently added photos appear in the software’s On Your Phone window.
