The DSMod utility modifies existing objects within Active Directory. Each object requires different input to modify the object. The DSMod utility supports the following common objects.
  • computer

  • contact

  • group

  • ou (organizational unit)

  • user

  • quota

All of these objects require some basic input to obtain the data. For example, you can expect to provide a username. The following list provides the common inputs for each of the objects. The arguments for modifying an object are essentially the same as the arguments for adding an object with the following exceptions. (Refer to the "Creating New Objects Using the DSAdd Utility" subsections for details on individual objects.)

-c

Reports any errors encountered when modifying the object, but continues to the next object in the argument list when you specify number objects. The default action is to stop displaying data when the utility encounters the first error.

-disabled {Yes | No}

Changes the object's account disabled status. Setting the object's disabled status to Yes means that the object can't log onto the network.
